I had a lovely birthday breakfast surprise!! Followed by a beautiful family picnic. Not much else to do in the bush of Africa! A pilot friend stopped in 2 days later on his return to Kenya and brought me my mail, so I had birthday cards that were only 2 days late!! Not bad for a place with no postal service.

The Rain is Here!
Today marks the official end of the ‘dry’ season! We had a refreshing amount of rainfall this morning, lasting more than a threat or 5 minutes. Sunday we had a ferocious sand storm and this morning started out the same but behind the sand came the rain. It is now pleasanty cool. Time to go buy wellies and a rain mac!
Another Snake!
Sabet’s family moved from Khartoum to be near us and live behind our house in Tonj. His 5 year old niece came running out their house today saying she saw a long ‘frog’??? Upon investigation, Sabet found it was in fact a cobra!! He bashed it’s head and then brought it for us to see…and it was big!!
I enjoyed working with one of our young Pastors called Benjamin in translating worship songs into Dinka. We did two today.
Tomorrow Sabet and Dabu will tow our old vehicle 70 miles to Wau to see if it can be repaired.
Sabet went to Nairobi!
Sabet left yesterday to go to Nairobi and take care of a problem that required his immediate attention. Please pray for wisdom for him and safety for us as we remain in Sudan without him. The weather here has been so pleasant, no rain, not too hot and a cool breeze. I’m busy schooling Hannah in the mornings and working on administration, while Jed plays with his friends. We have taken over 2 rooms that were built for our teams. One we are all sleeping in and the other has become our school/office/lounge! Today we managed to block the pigeons that were nesting and pooping everywhere.
