Peter Malock CHW

Peter Malock

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

We have trained over thirty students for Community Health Workers in our clinic. Due to a lot of reasons the number had gone up to 13 CHWs who are still in training. Peter Malock had been one of the greatest success in the training. He was among the first students. They were eleven and he is the only one remaining. He had been a very big blessing to this Ministry. He has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. Peter has a very good attitude, eager to learn, he has built a vision for himself for this Ministry.

He had been a role model and a counselor to the other CHWs. He is also among the three most qualified CHW and due to this reason, he has received an extra medical and spiritual training and at the moment he is the one running the Kingdom Assignment Sudan clinic in the Maloney.

In Maloney he is doing registration, triage, diagnosis, treatment and referral and for every patient and accompanying person he shares the gospel and prays for them.

Gabriel CHW

Gabriel

“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways. You will eat the fruit of you labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.” – Psalm 128:1-2

Gabriel has trained as a Community Health Worker for two and a half years in our clinic. He is young, God fearing and among the three best CHWs in our clinic Peter Malock being the first, Gabriel then Emmanuel. He is very bright and has the highest ability in the clinic. He is also the best translator at devotion. We are now training him to share in the morning devotions and to lead Sunday service in our church.

Gabriel acts as a reference point person for the rest of CHWs in terms of skills, good behavior, unlimited commitment. When new CHWs joins us, he takes an initiative to introduce them and interview them even before Dennis who is in charge does so. Gabriel completed high school few months ago, and he was taking the night shifts because of school. But this did not stop him from working hard. Besides being a CHWs and studying he had also joined a discipleship class on Saturdays together with Peter Malock and EmmanuelGabriel.

On March he did his final exam in high school. Gabriel emerged the second best student in the county with high marks. He also started practicing to play piano in the church and it was his initiative, nobody ask him to do that. Nobody is teaching him but he is learning by himself. He has the zeal of serving God and also his community. We are trusting God that he will have a chance to join medical course probably in Kenya to study clinical officer or medical officer.

Please pray for him, for healing to his shoulders, funds for sponsorship for the medical course he wants to pursue.

Pastor’s Training in Arua

Pastors Joseph, David, Santino and Andrew

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” – Romans 1:16

Four of our Pastors, Joseph, David, Santino and Andrew travelled to Uganda Arua on 13th July 2012. They did not have any challenges on the way though the car had a puncture near the border and thank God they had a spare tyre.

They arrived in Arua on Sunday 15th July in the evening around 6:00pm. They received a warm welcome from Billy and his family. They were amazed that a white man could kneel down to greet them. They said that Billy’s wife and kids also could wash their hands and kneel as they were greet them. They said that this family demonstrated God’s love by doing that because they felt honoured, something they did not expect from a white person.

On Monday 16th July at around 8:30 am the training commenced. They had six sections in a day. The main thing they were taught was Bible stories. They gave me an example of a story about Mary and Martha the time Jesus visited them. Martha was busy preparing something for Jesus while Mary decided to sit under Jesus feet and listened to Him. Mary came complaining to Jesus about her Sister’s behavior but Jesus told her that her sister has chosen the right thing.

During the training the Pastors were divided into two groups and they were taught how to be a good story teller. First you need to deal with the story and not to make a quotation or else you will be confusing people. When telling the story you need to go slowly in order for people to understand. You need to have the Bible with you when telling the story or else people may think you are giving your own teachings. Don’t mention the chapter first because people will be busy openingthe Bible instead of listening from you. When you finish telling the story you now mention the book and chapters.

Each group had a teller of the story, a reteller, a leader leading through the story and also an observer. Billy taught them for three days and ask them to go out and teach. They had a chance to facilitate the teachings to some South Sudanese students in a certain high school in Uganda.

The Pastors were given ten chapters in the Bible to read them. After they had read them several times and understand them, they can share with new believers.

The Pastors were very excited and thanked Suzy and Sabet for allowing them to participate in this training. They are looking forward to share with their communities, Santino mentioned that he will share with the people of Maloney, Joseph with the people of Warkar, David with his village and Andrew to the patients who comes everyday to the clinic. They were encouraged to share God’s word to the prisons, road, garden and anywhere else.

After the discussion with them today, David offered to tell us a story from Bible in the book Acts 24:24-27 about Felix and Drusilla his wife, he sent for Paul to listen to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus. David asked for a volunteer  to retell the story, and then I led through the story and Albino was the observer.

They were really excited and thank God for the opportunity to hear more of His word and they are more than willing to share to all nations.

“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you” – Jeremiah 32:17

A mother of two was brought to our clinic few months ago. She was expectant but had a very big abdomen. This caused people to run away from her because of her big abdomen. They feared her and believe in superstitious that such like a person is bewitched or an evil spirit has fallen on her. She had accumulation of fluids in her abdomen at least 10 liters. The Doctors managed to drain 3.4 liters fluids in her abdomen.

Because of the fluids in her abdomen it was very difficult to tell the viability of feotus. The midwife referred her to Wau for ultra sound to acertain the viability of the feotus. On reaching Wau, she had an early labour and delivered a premature baby.

The baby survived without any complication and he is healthy now. She came to the clinic praising God for her son and for healing her. Her fluids were all drained while she was given birth and her belly suck and she doesn’t have the fluids any more.

Sarah Achol 25 years have a small body size, short bones, and weak muscles on her lower limbs. She is mentally okay but she can’t stand or walk. She was visiting the ANC earlier while she was pregnant and was seeing by Stephanie and Margaret.

The Margaret decided to send her to Wau Hospital because she feared complication because her pelvis was so small. Achol chose not to go to Wau and waited for her labor and she came back to the clinic. She was again rushed to Wau with our ambulance. The next day she delivered safe and sound. Today she came back with a testimony with a strong and handsome boy.

Madut

I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me, let us exalt his name together. Psalms 34:1-3

Adut Arup brought her child to our clinic three months ago with swelling on her hand extending to the chest. Maruon Madut 5 months old had severe infection on the skin on the fat tissues extending upto the musles tissues. This illness can limit respiration causing the child to loss respiration.

MadutThe Doctors admitted the baby inorder to review him. During this time the husband abandoned his wife and sick child and she had no one to look after her. Our Ministry offered to support her and provided her with food and water. She was admitted for a period of one and half month and never discharged for she disappeared. This happened because the doctors did some minor surgeries to her child. She feared complications due to the minor surgeries done.

Today she came to the clinic to thank the medical staff or rather the ministry for supporting her and praying for her child who is totally healed. She made sure she said hi to Dennis, Albino, and our cooks for being there for her.

She is very excited and praising God for  healing her child and told us that whenever she is in Tonj, she will be coming to our Sunday service to worship our God.
